We edited the group policy on users machines to delete the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SystemCertificates\AuthRoot\Certificates key which has resolved the problem.
Delete the following registry key manually:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SystemCertificates\AuthRoot\Certificates
To do this, follow these steps:
- Start Registry Editor
- Locate the following registry subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SystemCertificates\AuthRoot
- Right-click and then delete the key that is called "Certificates"
- Open Outlook - problem sorted!
